I’d suggest an edit to say that, like some of the other differentials listed, IFS coaching being collaborative isn’t unique to this model and is the way a lot of wonderful non-IFS coaches that I know work. Coaching isn’t generally directive or solutions giving, it’s facilitating the coachee to access their own innate wisdom & answers

If there was ever a weekend that inspired, it’s

If there was ever a weekend that inspired, it’s been this one at @wohasu The World Happiness Summit

For someone who believes in the simple notion of happiness being the gift that’s found in the present moment, if only we are able to see it, for those wondering how three days of lectures can be filled with inspiring content about happiness, I understand!

However it has been the most inspiring and enriching experience to hear all these experts in happiness, that’s helped me to develop a full appreciation of how happiness can be optimally experienced, & some of the risks & influences involved in that.

In my coaching work I combine positive psychology & the internal family systems model to support clients to reflect on their lives, their stuck points & ways of moving forward towards happier, authentic living.

We go deep along the way to help the parts of them who are stuck in an unhappy place or time in their lives to become free of their burdens and fears, & open up to the possibility that within them, they are far better resourced than they ever realised.

Happiness is truly believing this and therefore moving around the world responding rather than reacting, accordingly. Happiness is Self-trust & even if not the complete absence of fear, the ability to turn inwards & bring compassion to the parts of ourselves that feel eg. when we step out of our comfort zones.

True happiness isn’t a one off or overnight job, it’s a project to refine & maintain. Because in today’s society we are constantly told “we’ll be happy WHEN [usually, we have purchased X]” & our presence & attention is more sought after than ever. When it’s really in simple, joyful moments, where we aren’t comparing, worrying, resisting what is, that we can feel truly happy.

@wohasu this amazing event that @karenguggenheim has brought to my small home town hasn’t finished yet & I am already planning ways to incorporate more of these tools, theories & gold into my coaching work & on here

Both learning about & sharing things that might be of service to others, to make a positive difference in my community & beyond is something that I am EXTREMELY happy doing 💫💫💫
